The gardens have extended over the time even though weather conditions have not always been optimal.
Because of the size of the gardens areas have been named to make it easier to visualize where each part is. At last count there were 30 signed gardens within the property. Click here to view our gardens |
This April '17 after a generous donation of some rocks from my sister and brother-in-law, Paul and I decided to revamp our front steps. I had always liked them like this but since this picture was taken our harsh summer the last couple of years had badly burn the mondo grass. Thank you Maree and Swannee for the rocks. xxx
Yesterday Paul dug out all the remaining mondo grass and removed the treated pin sleepers that formed the steps.
I asked him to do progress shots while I was at work but he got so carried away with his demolition he forgot!

This picture shows all Paul's hard work after one day. He's half way through plotting out where the rocks will be positioned.
When he gets another day off he'll be mortaring them into position. I can't wait! ;)
I have planted the remaining mondo grass as a border in the Oriental Garden under my Robinea Lace Ladies where they will be getting much more shade and should thrive. I am hoping the border will help stop the black birds from digging up the mulch and displacing it onto the sandy path there also. Cheers.
