Yes our first open day is this weekend (16th & 17th December 2016 10am till 4pm each day) to help raise funds for the local Mandurang Hall restoration project. Just a few finishing touches to be done and hopefully the weather will be our friend. We are so happy with our progress and so exhausted but hope to see your here. There will be drinks available and some plants on sale. We have a porter loo on site and there are disabled toilets at the Mandurang Cricket club on the corner of Nankervis and Sedgwick roads. Special thanks to Bendigrow Garden and Living Centre, and Tannery Lane Sand and Soil, Tannery Lane, Strathfieldsaye Victoria. Remember be sun smart and sorry no dogs. Here are some fresh brag pictures of the gardens to inspire you. Happy Digging. Itchypalms Gardens address is 26 Kenean Court Mandurang south, Victoria :)

Wicking Beds Materials:
1. Place pool in position on level ground. 2. Place pots upside down in pool so that the entire bottom is covered 3. Cut chicken wire so that it overhangs the entire top of the pool and you can fold it around the edges to secure it. 4. Put the toes of the pantyhose through the wire in the center of the pond so that they touch the bottom. Lay the tops of the pantyhose over the wire. This is the wick that carries the water to the soil. 5. Put shade cloth over wire so soil doesn't fall through. 6. Lay rocks (or logs etc) next to pool all the way round to at least 20cm above the level of the pool. 7. Check again to make sure the pool is level 8. Put soil on top of the pool and in to edge of rocks and pat down firmly until it is level with the rocks. 9. Plant out your chosen plants and put mulch over plants 10. Water plants in, then leave hose running slowly on the middle of the pond until you see water coming out of the pond under the rocks. This way you know the pool is full. 11. Water once or twice a week in same manner in summer or as needed and fertilize three monthly or as needed.
